NEW DELHI: Minister for Delhi Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed on Tuesday that although the AAP had selected a local candidate this time, the BJP had given tickets to “outsiders” to run from East Delhi who had consistently been unavailable.
Speaking at a corner meeting in the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency’s Shahdara assembly segment to garner support for party nominee Kuldeep Kumar, Bharadwaj claimed that the AAP had awarded him a ticket because of his diligence, integrity, and hard work.

“Kumar’s candidacy for East Delhi was selected after significant deliberation due to his youthful energy, adaptability, diligence, integrity, and education. I implore you to cast your vote for Kuldeep Kumar so that he becomes the MP for East Delhi,” Bharadwaj declared, saying that Kumar has put in a lot of work in the Kondli assembly area both as an MLA and as a councillor.

In addition, the minister warned against falling for the BJP’s “tactics of changing candidates” in each election. “This time, don’t fall for the BJP’s tricks. People have given outsiders a chance during the last ten years to run for office, win, and then never come back or fulfill their obligations, Bharadwaj added.

Speaker of the Delhi Assembly and Shahdara MLA Ram Niwas Goel was present at the AAP’s Sankalp Sabha as well.

Speaking before the assembly, Kumar urged attendees to “end BJP’s dictatorship” and release Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi. He enumerated the several projects carried out by the AAP government in Delhi, stating that free access to water, power, healthcare, and education was extended to the populace, and that women could now ride public buses for free. “CM Arvind Kejriwal is incarcerated today. Please vote for us to bring him out, if you would,” Kuldeep urged.

“Ask my constituency’s residents. Vote for me if I have experience working in my region; if not, don’t vote for me,” he continued.

AAP’s legal cell protested Kejriwal’s “unjust arrest” in a different setting by organizing a human chain at Connaught Place. Numerous attorneys from all throughout Delhi took part in the event, which was led by INDIA bloc candidate Somnath Bharti.

The detention was denounced by AAP MLA Bharti, who called it “evidence of a dictatorial atmosphere” in Delhi and the country. “We are trying to convey to the public the way BJP has adopted an undemocratic attitude and picked up Kejriwal on March 21 unconstitutionally even after the announcement of elections,” the candidate for New Delhi stated. “We want to convey this message to every household that this election is to save the Constitution, democracy and the country,” he stated.

According to AAP officials, the demonstration was well-received by the public and was nonviolent.
