India’s men’s hockey team loses 1-3 in London to Great Britain

In their second game in the London round of the FIH Pro League here on Sunday, an inconsistent Indian men’s hockey team lost 1-3 to hosts Great Britain, one day after the Harmanpreet-led team stunned world champions Germany 3-0.

In the second and eleventh minutes, Bandurak Nicholas scored a pair of field goals, and in the 47th minute, Calnan Will scored the other goal for GBR.

In the 35th minute, Abhishek scored India’s only goal through a field goal.

India was awarded eight penalty corners, however they were unable to result in a goal. Despite having five PCs, GBR was unable to convert any of them.

In the FIH chart, India is rated third, one spot ahead of Britain.The next game between BIndia and Germany is scheduled for June 8 here.
